Torviscosa

Torviscosa was founded in 1938 as a fascist company town for the factory producing viscose (hence the name) and other artificial products.

It is also a Città di Fondazione (a founded town): it was built on marshland drained by the state.

The last part of the town was built in 1961. Today, it has around 2,600 inhabitants.

The town was planned following a hierarchical system. The size of a house was determined by the occupation of the individual working in the factory.
